Obituary for Leslie Eugene Crow, Sr.
Leslie Eugene Crow, Sr., age 79, passed away on November 30, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was born in Washington D.C. on June 6, 1943, to Leslie Pernell and Elzie Virginia Hall Crow.
Eugene and his wife, Nellie, were married on November 23, 1964. Together they raised seven children. His family will remember him most as being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Other than spending most of his time outside, some of his favorite things to do were reading books, especially westerns and anything written by Louis L’Amour, listening to country music and woodworking. Eugene’s family said that he was never a dog person but he and his dog, Bandit, were inseparable. He was a member of the Baptist faith and always kept his Bible on top of his westerns. His wife remembers him reading his bible three times throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nellie Louise Crow; three sons, Mike Crow, Gene (Billie) Crow Jr., and Billy (Jenny) Crow; four daughters, Pam (Jeff) Cook, Tonya Gaskin, Tammy (James) Blount, and Louanne Cooper; one brother, Jimmy Crow; four sisters, Virginia (Paul) Bell, Frankie Harris, Betty Jo Crumbie, and Kathy (Jack) Cathy; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Pernell, and Elzie Virginia Hall Crow; three brothers, Arthur Crow, Tommy Crow, and Johnny Crow.
Funeral Services for Leslie Eugene Crow, Sr. will be held at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Officiating the services will be Brother Josh Bingham. Pallbearers are Gene Crow, Billy Crow, Mike Crow, Dylan Gaskin, Zack Cooper, and Ryan Cooper. Burial will follow at North Union Cemetery in Bellefontaine, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
