Lesa Ann Pittman Pate, age 52, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 due to complications from esophageal cancer. She was born March 18, 1969 in Eupora, Mississippi and was raised by her loving parents, Clifford and Martha Pittman. Lesa married the love of her life, Freddie Pate, on September 21, 1990. They had just celebrated 31 years of marriage on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

Lesa loved GOD, meeting people and taking care of animals. Freddie always said that if a critter showed up at their house and had a heartbeat, it got fed. She always had an infectious laugh and smile and everyone that met her loved her. Known as “Little Lesa”, she was very active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars of The United States and was a Past VFW Post 3806 Auxiliary President and a Past VFW District 6 Auxiliary President. Lesa always enjoyed traveling with Freddie and participating in all types of Veteran’s functions. She had a beautiful soul and always enjoyed helping people. Her wonderful life was a living example of kindness and joy and she always made people smile and fall in love with her.

Lesa was a Certified Legal Assistant and worked with Attorneys George Mitchell and Hugh Gibson before her health began to decline. She was famous in the community for her special talent at baking brownies. Everyone always looked forward to eating them and they became known simply as “Mrs. Lesa’s Brownies”.

Lesa was preceded in death by her father Clifford Pittman and is survived by her husband, Freddie Pate; her mother, Martha Rosamond Pittman; sister and husband, Angie and Tim Beavers; brother and wife, Jessie and Kathy Pittman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Wise-Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Memorial services will be held in the Wise-Reed Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021. Reverends Roger Miller and Brad Latham will officiate. Interment and VFW Auxiliary Ritual will be at the North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery located in Kilmichael, Mississippi.

Pallbearers will be members of the VFW along with Honorary Pallbearers from the VFW, VFW Auxiliary, Masonic Lodges and all attending Law Enforcement both active and retired.
