Jane Box Blalack

Jane Box Blalack, age 77, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, left behInd a frail and failing body for eternal glory on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Born in the MS delta on December 10, 1943, she was the daughter of Walter Jesse Sproles and Effie Ladell Tackett.
Jane graduated from Eupora High School in 1961 and was married to Victor Box of Eupora for 18 years.
She worked factory jobs in Eupora to help provide for her family, while also raising her five children, along with her younger brother and sister.
In 1979 she married Billy Blalack of Eupora and they spent 25 years of life together.
Jane was a talented seamstress. She loved sewing, woodworking and crafts. She was creative and capable of building and making anything she could imagine. As a woman, she climbed telephone poles and installed phone lines for South Central Bell.
In her free time she enjoyed dancing, reading, live music, gardening, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved coffee, sweets, and was always accompanied by a well-loved dog as a pet.
Jane was a beautiful, free-spirited, generous, playful, competent, funny and strong-willed woman. She loved her family, provided for everyone around her, and was a beautiful example of self-sacrificing love. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mathiston.
The family is thankful to all the doctors, nurses and hospital staff who loved her and cared for her at the end of her life.
Jane is preceded in death by her siblings; Walter Jesse Sproles Jr (Dick Jr), Oliver Sproles, Bobby Sproles, Wayne Sproles, and Deborah Sproles, along with her daughter Lisa Pepper.
She is survived by her two sons, Stephen Box and Stanley Box of Eupora and her two daughters, Jennifer Stadler (Jonathan Stadler) of Mankato MN, and Shelley Ray of Maben, MS. She also leaves behind nine very loved grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family intends to honor her wishes that she not have a funeral or service. Jane wished to be cremated and laid to rest with her daughter and sister.
