Herbert Lamar Ballard, age 65, passed away on September 5, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. He was born on July 5, 1957 to the late Herbert Lavelle and Glenda Reed Ballard.
Lamar graduated from Mathiston High School and attended Wood Jr. College. He enjoyed playing the bass guitar with various groups though the years. In the past, he played at the VFW and in various bands such as Destiny and Intensity. He liked fishing and was a gun enthusiast.
Lamar is survived by his mother, Glenda Ballard of Mathiston, Mississippi; his wife, Mary Ann Ballard of Mathiston; a son, Cliff Ballard (Krystal) of Walthall, Mississippi; two daughters, Jessica Meece (Chris) of Franklin, Tennessee and Lydia Best (Justin) of West Point, Mississippi; two brothers, Lavelle Ballard of Mathiston, Mississippi and Larry Ballard (Sam) of Columbus, Mississippi; two sisters, Sheila Guidi of Atlanta, Georgia, and Gail Shurden (Sheryl) of Mathiston, Mississippi; and six grandchildren: Millie and Macon Ballard, Ethan and Stella Meece, and Collin and Rilyn Best.
A visitation for Lamar Ballard will be held at Wise Reed Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Le Bonheur Hospital or a charity of your choice. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
