Geraldine “Deanie” Green Poe, aged 57, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora on August 29, 2021. She was the wife of the late Michael Richard Poe and daughter of the late Calvin Vernon and Mary Ethel Weeks Green.
Deanie attended Eupora High School and spent her life supporting her family through working as a waitress and cashier at restaurants and quick stops throughout Webster County. She always greeted everyone with a winning smile and a friendly nature. She was a generous and caring person. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who treasured her time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Haley (Brick) Townsend of Eupora, Mississippi and Autumn (Eric) Boydstun of Pontotoc, Mississippi; a brother David Wayne (Donna) Green of Stewart; two sisters, Judy Lynn Bowles of Eupora, Mississippi and Ethel Darlene (Jimmy) Evans of Stewart, Mississippi; and four grandchildren, Jashon Poe, Mikaelie Townsend, Braelie Townsend, and Beckham Boydstun.
Deanie is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Vernon and Mary Ethel Weeks Green; her husband, Michael Richard Poe; two brothers, Bobby Joe Green and James Earl Green; and one grandchild, Berkley Elizabeth Boydstun.
Funeral for Geraldine “Deanie” Green Poe will be Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
