Frances Harris, aged 87, passed away peacefully at her home on February 17, 2021. She is the wife of the late James Lester Harris and daughter of the late John William and Alma Orr.
Frances was a loving wife and mother, homemaker, and care giver for the elderly. Being a good mother, she always had a chocolate cake each afternoon waiting on her children after school. She was a beautiful Christian lady who exemplified the virtuous Christian woman in Proverbs 31. She was a member of the Zion Assembly Church of God.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Linda Joy Gray of Starkville, Mississippi and Patricia Summerlin of Starkville, Mississippi; one son, Charles Wayne Harris (Susan) of Okeechobee, Florida; and two sisters, Martha Jean Shannon of Calhoun City, Mississippi, and Ruth Patridge of Gulfport, Mississippi.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Lester Harris; her parents, John William and Alma Orr; a son, James Ricky Harris; four brothers, R. T. Orr, Durell Orr, Dewey Orr, and Troy Lee Orr; and four sisters, Inez Gross, Mary Cooper, Catherine Medders, and Joyce Jones.
Services for Frances Harris will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Visitation will precede the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Brother Allen Thompson will officiate the services. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Wilcox, Danny Gray, Roy Meek, and Charles Harris. Graveside service will be held in Wise Reed Chapel. Burial will be at Montevista Cemetery in Webster County, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
