Eva Griffin Rico

Eupora, Mississippi

Eva Rico, aged 63, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo on March 14, 2021. She was the wife of Randy Rico and the daughter of Sue Griffin and the late James Griffin.

Eva graduated from Cumberland High School where she was homecoming queen. She and Randy spent thirty-nine years of their lives together with never a cross word between them. They were constant companions to each other whether it was fishing or hunting. Eva was an outgoing, gracious lady. She and Randy enjoyed entertaining and feeding friends at their home. After working at numerous businesses, Eva had retired recently from Tom’s Quick Stop in Eupora where she greeted everyone with a smile and a welcoming hello. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Webster County, Mississippi but occasionally attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Eupora, Mississippi.

Eva is survived by her mother, Sue Griffin of Houston, Mississippi; her husband, Randy Rico of Eupora, Mississippi; a brother, James Edwin (Karen) Griffin of Walthall, Mississippi and numerous nieces and nephews. Even though she never had children, Rudy Ray and Mitch Mitchell were like sons to her.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Griffin; her brother, Jack Griffin; and a sister, Annette Griffin

Services for Eva Rico will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Visitation will precede the funeral from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Brother Larry Watson will officiate the services. Pallbearers are Donny Mitchell, Rudy Ray, Baby Tim Tindall, Franky McCain, Ronny Pepper, and P.J. Johnston. Graveside service will be held in Wise Reed Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Webster County, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
