Earline Brown, aged 88, passed away at the Carrington Nursing Home in Starkville, Mississippi on April 4, 2021. She was the wife of the late John Brown, Sr.

Mrs. Brown was a faithful member of the Maben Church of God where she was a charter member and her brother was the founder of the church. She was a wonderful mother and took the term housewife quite literally with her enjoyment of cooking and keeping her house. Mrs. Earline was a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

Mrs. Earline Brown is survived by two sons, John (Diane) Brown and Timothy (Evelyn) Brown both of Starkville, Mississippi; two daughters, Doris Austin of Gulfport, Mississippi and Agnes “Lucy” (Joe) Ault of Pensacola, Florida; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mae Tullos Kelly; two sons, Ricky Brown and James Brown; ten brothers, Thomas Kelly, Leslie Kelly, Wes Kelly, Des Kelly, Lavelle Kelly, and five lost at infancy; three sisters, Willie Mae Moore, Pauline Moore, and Mary Etheridge; and two grandchildren, Timothy Joe Brown and Alan Nelson.

A private family visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. A private family funeral service will be led by Brother Jesse Strider at 11:00 a.m. in Wise Reed Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Spring Valley Cemetery in Mathiston, Mississippi. Due to covid the family requests that everyone attending wear a mask and practice social distancing. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
