Donald “B3AR” Herbert Ellis was born on January 6, 1948 to Herbert Lamar and Doris Samford Ellis while they were stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. As a true army brat, he and his siblings lived in many places growing up in the US and abroad. He established and curated the Nita Chito Scout Museum at Camp Seminole which proudly displays the history of the Pushmataha Area Council.

He graduated from George P Butler High School in Augusta, Ga. He attended Holmes Community College and Mississippi State University. He owned and operated the Feed and Seed Store in Ackerman and later worked many years at Cooksey’s in Eupora. He was a devoted son, caring for his elderly mother until her passing. He enjoyed collecting quirky automobiles, customizing and repurposing them for camping and travel. He was an avid baseball fan, notably supporting the Atlanta Braves. In his later life, he began painting for his close friends and family.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Dennis Lamar Ellis. He leaves behind his sister, Debra Beth Ellis Lovell (Frank Lovell), nephew William Nicholas Ellis, nephew Frank Lovell, IV, and Jeanann Lovell Suggs (Brad Suggs). He has six great nieces and nephews.
