David Lyle Harris, aged 62, passed away on October 17, 2021. He was the son of Mrs. Martha Harris Justice and the late Richard Owen Harris, Sr.
David attended school in Ackerman, Mississippi. After leaving school he began working with logging companies as a mechanic. When he became disabled, he enjoyed trading guns and riding in the country in his pick-up truck. Weekly he would visit local friends. He lived with his mother for whom he was always in the Reform, Mississippi area. His mom said that David was very attentive to her needs. David will be missed by his family and his beloved dog, Gypsy.
David is survived by his mother, Martha Nell McPherson Harris Justice; four sisters, Rachel (Tandy) Bell of Maben, Mississippi, June (Randy) Brooks of Mathiston, Mississippi, Sherry (Larry) Kelley of Mathiston, Mississippi and Jerry (Rickey) Wilson of Louisville, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his father, Richard Owen Harris, Sr., a sister, Judy Harris Hood; and a brother, Richard Owen, Jr.
Graveside services for David Lyle Harris will be Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Chester Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Officiating for the services will be Brother Rob Faulk. Pallbearers will be Larry Kelley, Tandy Bell, Shane Kelley, Tony Williamson, Richard Harris, and Chase Bell. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all services.
