Cora Belle Butts Eidson, 105, of Eupora, Mississippi, was peacefully called home on Friday, January 28, 2022, in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
Ms. Eidson was born on April 13, 1916, in Webster County, Mississippi, to Clint Butts and Willie Belle Walker Butts. She had six siblings: James Delbert Butts (Millie), Dr. Ted Merrill Butts (Jimmie), Joy Kay Butts Hillhouse (John Elmer “Red”), Jim Hugh Curry, Robert Blaine Curry (Sarah Jane), and Annie G. Curry Brannon (Mike).
Cora Belle married Everette John Eidson. They joyfully welcomed six children: Ouida Joyce Eidson; Joseph Lee Eidson; Jackie Jauice Eidson Reynolds; Jimmie Jean Eidson; John Delbert Eidson; and Linda Jewell Eidson Chase.
Ms. Eidson was preceded in death by her mother (1928); her father (1951); stepmother, Vera McKay Butts Curry (2010); husband, 1974; siblings: James (2010), Ted (2010), Joy Kay (2005), and Jim Hugh (1975); three children: Joseph Lee (1950), Ouida Joyce (2017), and Jackie (1991); and nephews/nieces Janice Butts E. Pritchard (2021), Kenneth Vaughan (2021), and Salley Ree Vaughan Rogers (2009), and Sammie L. Earnest (2014).
She is survived by five grandchildren: Richard Dale Reynolds, Denise Lynn Reynolds Wallace (Frank), Lisa Ross Eidson, Bryan Chase (Heather), and Jenni Chase Rogers (Rob): three great-grandchildren: Abigail Wallace, Aren Wallace, and Corban Wallace; nieces: Merrill Hillhouse Hudnall (Charlie), Kim Earnest, Karla Earnest, Rhonda Earnest Burton (Darryl), Cindy Earnest Wilson (Brian), and Patricia Vaughan Cousley (Sam); nephews: Glen Allen Earnest (Gayle), Brian K. Buttts, and John Elmer Hillhouse, Jr. (Barbie); and grand-nieces/nephews: Madison Hudnall Hanson (Joey), Kendall Hudnall, Erin Hudnall Baldwin (Jordan), John Taylor Hillhouse, Hays Hillhouse, and Avery Hillhouse.
Ms. Eidson was a long-time nursing assistant, avid gardener, and devoted Baptist. The only thing more important to Cora than her relationship with the Lord was her family.
