Charles Ernest Beck, Jr.
July 15, 1933 – March 24, 2022
LaGrange Community, Mississippi

Charles Ernest Beck, Jr., age 88, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora on March 24, 2022. He followed his beloved wife, Sarah Ann Cook Beck, eight months later to his heavenly home.
Charles spent most of his life in the LaGrange Community of Choctaw County, Mississippi. Although he was born in Jefferson County and attended Red Lick School in Lorman, Mississippi, he was not destined to live for the rest of his life there. He joined the army in 1952 and fought in the Korean War serving in many locations. He worked in communications and radio interception. Following his service in the Army he met a young lady from Choctaw County who was teaching in Fayette, Mississippi. They met at a church service. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Choctaw County which became their permanent residence. He worked at Futorian Furniture Manufacturing and farmed the family properties. He served LaGrange Methodist Church as property steward and many other positions within the church and worked with the youth there. He served on the Election Committee of Choctaw County where he was the commissioner for many years. His retired years were lovingly spent with his wife of sixty years. His grandchildren were a special part of his life and he made sure that he attended all of their activities. During his retired years he spent his late evening hours reading his Bible and communicating with his Lord and Savior.
Charles Beck is survived by two children, William Charles (Melissa) Beck of Cleveland, Mississippi and Sarah Beth (Shannon) Crow of the LaGrange Community; four grandchildren, Jacob (Brittany) Crow of West Point, Catherine of the LaGrange Community, Sarah Grace Beck and Myles Canon Beck of Cleveland, Mississippi; and four great grandchildren, Emory, Ella, Anna, and Ava.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ernest and Madie Youngblood Beck; his wife, Sarah Ann Cook Beck, and his sister, Mrs. D. L. “Adelaide” Ray.
