Bonnie Dodd, age 78, passed away at her home in Eupora, Mississippi on March 5, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Doyle and Carease Garrett.
Bonnie was a retired registered nurse. Most of her years of nursing were Webster General Hospital in Eupora until retirement. Then, she and her late husband, W. L. Dodd, traveled as she worked as a travel nurse. She loved and enjoyed her work. Often, she would share stories of nursing with her family and friends. She then was primary care giver to her youngest daughter, Rhonda. She was known as an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She could quote team stats from the early 70s to present day. She had a great sense of humor and always ended every conversation with her family with, “I love you.”
Bonnie is survived by two sons, Tony (Dawn) Anthony and Michael (Melinda) Lusk; two daughters, Linda (Joe) Salley and Rhonda Abbott all of Eupora, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Garrett (Kara) Anthony, Colten (Jena) Anthony, Tyler (Danielle) Leech, Lindsey (Cole) Gill, Lauren Lusk, and Nathan Thomassie; two stepsons, Dewayne (Cristy) and Marcus (Tanya) Dodd; one step-daughter, Tammy Downer; and a host of step-grandchildren.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Carease Garrett; her late husband, W.L. Dodd; and stepson, David Dodd.
Funeral service for Bonnie Dodd will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Milligan Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tommy Garrett, Garrett Anthony, Colten Anthony, Tyler Leech, Cole Gill, and Vince Clouse. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
