Billy Jean Wylie, age 73, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022, at UMC in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born on October 12, 1949, to Callie Leigh Orr and Earnest Alvin Wylie, Sr.
Mr. Wylie was a lifetime resident of Mississippi and was born and raised in Stewart. He loved people, grilling with his family, and loved spending his mornings at Nail’s One Stop drinking coffee. His favorite day at Nail’s was Wednesday when they served biscuits and gravy. Billy was a truck driver for Crimm Logging. He attended Old Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
Billy is survived by two brothers, Royce Wylie of Kilmichael, Mississippi and Willard Wylie of Winona, Mississippi; three sisters, Carolyn Lishman (Thomas) of Carrolton, Mississippi, Daisy Bailey of Kilmichael, Mississippi, and Bettie Kelly of Winona, Mississippi; one brother-in-love, Doug Richards of Mantachie, Mississippi. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends also survive him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Callie Leigh Orr and Earnest Alvin Wylie, Sr.; three brothers, E.W. Wylie, Richard Wylie, and Earnest Wylie Jr; three sisters, Linda Richards, Katie Mae Neely, and Ruby Lee Paxton.
A funeral service for Billy Jean Wylie will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Officiating the services is Brother Jeff Sullivan. Pallbearers are Hunter Crimm, Dylan Mann, Zachery Wylie, William Power, Austin Crimm, and Eric Yeatman. Honorary Pallbearers are John Sanders and Dewey Cannon. Burial will follow at Reed’s Chapel Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
