Allen Dewayne Dykes, age 48, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 in Lowndes County. He was born on March 21, 1974 to Donald Ray and Ruby Mae Eiland Dykes.
Dewayne will be remembered as a loving father, son, grandfather, and friend by all who knew him. He was a lifetime resident of Starkville, Mississippi. He loved hunting and fishing in his spare time but his favorite thing in life was spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his father, Donald Ray Dykes of Starkville, Mississippi; one son, Donovan Allen Dykes of Eupora, Mississippi; one daughter, Skylar Lynnae McClain (Hayz) of Grenada, Mississippi; one brother-in-law, Robert Arney of the Longview Community; four granddaughters, Emalynn Dykes, Layla Dykes, Kalie Ruth McClain, and Scarlett Dykes; and fiance, Kay Jenness of Columbus, Mississippi. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Mae Eiland Dykes; one sister, Donnell Arney; one daughter-in-law, Kimberly Dykes; his paternal grandparents, Reu and Waldean Dykes; and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Willie Mae Moore.
Funeral Services for Allen Dewayne Dykes will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at Chester Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Officiating the services will be Brother Rob Faulk. Pallbearers are Harley Davis, Sammy Bowie, Brian Frederick, Charles Morphew, Jerome Taylor, and Preston Hardin. Burial will follow in the Chester Baptist Church Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
