Alan Shepherd
March 21, 1955 – March 9, 2023
Alan Shepherd, age 67, passed away at North Mississippi Hospice Center in Tupelo surrounded by his family on March 9, 2023. He was born March 21, 1955,in Maben, MS to Wilford and Doris Baker Shepherd.
Alan lived most of his life in Webster County. He was a factory worker at Action Furniture Plant in Verona, MS. In 1978, Alan married Shirley Roe at Skyline Baptist Church in Tupelo. His family remembers him as a loving husband, father; very much caring for others and going all out for the underdog. It was his sincere desire that everyone be saved. He loved the Lord so much that he went about handing out scripts containing the way to salvation. No one was Alan Shepherd’s enemy. He reached out to help everyone and they were the better for it.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Roe Shepherd; one son, Buddy Shepherd (Roxanna) of Eupora; two brothers, Thomas Shepherd (Susan) of Guntown and Lloyd Shepherd of Tupelo; three sisters, Barbara Shepherd of Eupora, Shirley Shepherd of Mathiston, and Margaret Hogue of Skyline.
Alan Shepherd is preceded in death by his parents, Wilford Shepherd, and Doris Baker Shepherd.
Visitation for Mr. Shepherd will be held on March 12, 2023, at 1:00 at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, MS.
Funeral services will be held on March 12, 2023, at 2:00 at Wise Reed Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating the service is Sister Rhonda Kennedy.
